jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Mar 24, 2006 A shifty brew: light, clean and amber, but with rich yeast aromas and a champagne-size bubble. Citrus, banana and some charcoal on the taste. Bright, short palate. Different take on a hefe breaking the mold. Probably too minerally for many. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA Feb 28, 2006 Big time banana but not really hazy. I also thought there was an artificial element to this one, although I know they use all natural ingredients. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Oct 16, 2005 Draught at the Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Looked like a wheat beer I suppose, but had a very artificial feel to it. Some citrus flavours, thin bodied and boring. harrisoni (6704), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 4, 2005 Draught at Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Wheat beer with flavours of banana and bubble gum. Very refreshing it not utterly unique pivo (2535), Germany Feb 12, 2005 Light weizen nose, hazy pale orange color. clinging foam head. Rough wheat taste with a tangy orange-peel, spicy end. Odd for a weiss beer and not so good after all. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Feb 7, 2005 Draught at the Porterhouse in London: Hazy orange, small layer of a head. Slightly sulphury taste and as my experienced co-tasters pivo and JoeT pointed out some hints of fermented banana peel. Orange nose. Slick and oil texture. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Oct 24, 2004 Tap@The Porterhouse, Covent garden, London. A fizzy weiss. Edgey grainy wheat flavour. Bubblegumy, with a touch of clove /banana (almost a banana lolly type flavour. Pretty bad, thin fizzy and sugary. JoeMcPhee (4911), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 1, 2004 Cloudy appearance (but not very cloudy). Pale yellow colour. Subtle aroma of bubble gum and banana, no clove at all. Flavour is similar with a lot of wheaty dryness. Banana esters and a dry finish. Light citrus character as well.
