COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Notoriously difficult to brew in Germany and called Shizen beer by German Brewers. Haus Weiss offers everything from a classic wheat beer; subtle banana flavour touching on mango.

Tap@The Porterhouse, Covent garden, London. A fizzy weiss. Edgey grainy wheat flavour. Bubblegumy, with a touch of clove /banana (almost a banana lolly type flavour. Pretty bad, thin fizzy and sugary.

Thier wheat beer was actually pretty nice. Pours a perfect hazy gold with a nice fluffy lasting white head, some lacing. Aroma is lemony (an dnot jsut cuz they thew a lemon in there) yeasty, banana and lots of phenols like clove and vanilla. Flavor is wheaty, citrus, lemon zest, and slightly tart in the end. Nice full body and mouthfeel though.

Banana and wheat are both strong and well-balanced with accents of clove spiciness and some hints of vanilla and coconut in the aroma. Opaque yellow body is topped by a decent and lasting, bright white head. Overly sweet banana flavour with plenty of slightly sour wheat character and surprisingly stron bitterness in the finish. Spiciness emerges in the aftertaste and lingers on the tongue. Crisp, light body with strong, lively carbonation. Seemingly very well made but not so much to my taste. Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Temple Bar (May-06).

On tap at Porterhouse. Yellow color. Tastes like apples and .peaches. Quite smooth. One of their better ones.

Light yellow colored, little vanishing white head. Fine banana and fenols with some sweetness, rich and good aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is even better than aroma: banana, sweetness, spices and yeast come up, aftertaste is crispy with with lasting banana and spices. Fine weisse!

20/05/06 Porterhouse Central Dublin. Muddy looking pale straw body with very little head. Strong cloves on initial taste then bubble gum, zesty and mushy banana. Good.

Plain, very plain, looks and tastes like a very ordinary beer, wish I could rave more about it, it is nice, that is about all, enjoy!

Light weizen nose, hazy pale orange color. clinging foam head. Rough wheat taste with a tangy orange-peel, spicy end. Odd for a weiss beer and not so good after all.

Draught at the Porterhouse in London: Hazy orange, small layer of a head. Slightly sulphury taste and as my experienced co-tasters pivo and JoeT pointed out some hints of fermented banana peel. Orange nose. Slick and oil texture.

Draught at the Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Looked like a wheat beer I suppose, but had a very artificial feel to it. Some citrus flavours, thin bodied and boring.
