Notoriously difficult to brew in Germany and called Shizen beer by German Brewers. Haus Weiss offers everything from a classic wheat beer; subtle banana flavour touching on mango.

Very standard wheat beer, light yellow, with citrus nose, and light fruity flavour

Big time banana but not really hazy. I also thought there was an artificial element to this one, although I know they use all natural ingredients.

Draught - Porterhouse, London. A hazy yellow-brown coloured beer with a slight off white head. The aroma is full on bubblegum with not much else in the way of estery notes. The taste has some bruised banana and is quite phenolic. Quite a lot going on for a hefe. Decent.

A shifty brew: light, clean and amber, but with rich yeast aromas and a champagne-size bubble. Citrus, banana and some charcoal on the taste. Bright, short palate. Different take on a hefe breaking the mold. Probably too minerally for many.

Draught@brew pub, Dublin. Hazy orange-yellow, creamy white head. Loads of bubblegum and banana in the nose. Loads of bubblegum and wine gums in the flavor. Lemony aftertaste.

Draught @ Porterhouse, WC2, London. Hazy yellow / orange color with a small white head. Aroma is yesty, sweat, banana. Flavor starts moderate sweet and light acidic and bitter, ends moderate sweet and acidic and light bitter, with a average duration.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2007 Keg (Porterhouse, Dublin) Looks the part - orange, loose frothy head. Has the nose right too - slightly orange and corriander bent to the obligatory banana direction. Taste matches, but a bit thin - an OK summer quaff.

Light weizen nose, hazy pale orange color. clinging foam head. Rough wheat taste with a tangy orange-peel, spicy end. Odd for a weiss beer and not so good after all.

Cloudy appearance (but not very cloudy). Pale yellow colour. Subtle aroma of bubble gum and banana, no clove at all. Flavour is similar with a lot of wheaty dryness. Banana esters and a dry finish. Light citrus character as well.

Draught at the Porterhouse in London: Hazy orange, small layer of a head. Slightly sulphury taste and as my experienced co-tasters pivo and JoeT pointed out some hints of fermented banana peel. Orange nose. Slick and oil texture.
