In response to growing interest in American style pale ales the Porterhouse has decided to resurrect a beer from our past. Based on a beer brewed somewhat ahead of its time, in our brewpub days, Hop Head is a highly aromatic, bitter, pale ale, made with the intention of satisfying the hop heads amongst us. Amber coloured, with a distinct malt character, generous use of hops for bittering and the triple addition of cascade and Hallertau Northern Brewer hops gives a conspicuous citrus character for both aroma and flavour. Along with a slightly higher alcohol content this results in a rich, fruity beer with an oily, citrus hop character and wonderfully rich, full mouthfeel.

Easy to sip with a nice firm but subtle hop profile. The pour is bright gold with a thick soapy white head. Light citrus and mild grassy hop notes, toasted bread and mild honey sweetness. Easy to drink and has a touch of bitterness on the finish.

330ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit and caramel with some mild spice. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with a caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with some decent carbonation leaving a pleasant tickle on the palate. Quite hoppy for the style and very tasty. Definitely recommended.

Handpumped real ale at porterhouse Dublin. An excelent Ipa with a lot of hopping. Too much bitterness to call it an APA. VERY GOOD

Tap at Porterhouse. A pale with some aggressive bitterness which I dig. Quite zest driven with orange citrus and light pepper on the finish. The spice gives it a good point of difference. Nice stuff

Les fines bulles dans le doré de cette bière annoncent sa légèreté. Oui, mais assez présente en bouche pour rester sur le palais un long moment après sa dégustation.Très content pour commencer, avec un bon burger au poulet de la maison !

Tap@Charlies Bar, Copenhagen - Golden/amber pour with a small persistent white head. Hoppy floral taste and aroma, with a strong malty caramel base - a slight sweet spice on the palate, good bitter finish. Decent drop this.
