3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. Clear, copper-ish, dark amber colour with average, frothy, half way lasting, decently lacing, off-white head. Hoppy aroma has notes of lemon tea, caramel malty basis, hints of orange zest and grass, a very cautious fungous yeasty touch. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty, hints of lemon tea, dry, grassy, and slightly soggy, strawy hoppy overtones; dry, minimally herbal-spicy hoppy finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint at Porterhouse Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland (€5.30):
Lots of bitter hops & strong citrus notes, a combination of fruits in the background & floral note with some pine. Relatively fresh with the odd bit of malt & some bitterness right at the end but it was definitely the hops that dominated.
Amber to copper, 1cm tall & bubbly white to light beige head. with at touch of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Bitter with lots of strong hops & pine coming through initially, some citrus & tropical fruits with touches of floral. Quite a bitter aftertaste to this one that was in direct opposition to some of the caramel malts that appeared around the middle & balanced things out some.
Well carbonated, almost fizzy & fairly smooth with a medium body & huge amounts of bitterness throughout. The beer was quite easy to drink with a lingering bitter & dry finish to it.
A nice change for me with regards to Porterhouse beers, the first non-stout I’ve tried from them & it was a good one that I’d probably rate as my favourite of the three beers I’ve tried from the brewery.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Schöne Mahagonifarbe, Geruch erinnert mich leider sehr an Klostein bzw. Badreiniger.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft pour at the Porterhouse brewpub in Temple Bar, Dublin. For an APA style beer, this is a very muted and toned down pale. With the name ’Hop Head’ you might be expecting more of a citric/hop punch. Very easy drinking but more like a bitter than a true pale ale.

33cl bottle in IPA glass. Pours clear dark amber. Head is tanned, thick, soapy and with a beautiful lacing. Aroma of herbal hops. Quite raw. Strong malts, bitter hops, pleasant carbonation, full bodied velvet APA. If you need a hops-shot -> this beer is the right choice. I was saturated after one bottle.
