COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with fresh oyster. A smooth drinking aromatic stout with a discernible but unidentifiable aromatic aspect. Not suitable for vegetarians. This gently flavored stout has a roast malt character, full body and an aromatic character from the Goldings hops. Fresh oysters added during the brewing process, lend a discernible yet unidentifiable note.

Draught at the Porterhouse in Covent Garden, London. Interesting, unrecognizable flavors that I haven’t encountered in other beers. The oyster influence is noticeable, but the flavor is subtle. Otherwise, a pretty standard, inoffensive, roasty stout, but one that is especially worth drinking in the land of Guiness and Murphy’s knockoffs.

Draught@brew pub, Dublin. Almost opaque dark ruby color, firm tan head. Aromatic lemony nose, not strong. Cold coffee roasted, herbal taste. Toasted aftertaste. This is brewed with fresh oysters but they are not found here.

Notice the difference between this and the Wrasslers, creamy, lighter in body and good lacing. Good but I preferred the Wrasslers better.

Pours a nice black body with a frothy beige head. Aroma of lots of dry roasted barley, chocolate, and light salt. Coffee, mixed with roast and chocolate in the flavor with a nice light sweetness, and full bodied. A very well made stout which stands out among the other crappy stouts in ireland.

Black colored, thick and medium sized beige head. Roastiness, sweetness and coffee in aroma with strong chocolate, fine aroma. Medium bodied. Chocolate, roastiness and mild sweetness in flavor with some fruits, good stout.

Tap (Nitro), The Porterhouse, Dublin: Black to deep brown with the standard beautiful nitro head. The notes from the brewers state that all their beers are unpasteurised - so why nitro them?? Anyhow, salty, roasty aroma, somewhat limited by the nitro no doubt. Excellent salty-sweet roastiness with some burnt caramel notes and very pleasing coffee length. There’s also a striking dark-bready note that grows. Quite light bodied, and pleasingly low carbonated.

Reddish black pint with a half-inch of white foam, just like each of the other stouts on tap at Porterhouse. Chocolate malts and a tangy oystery brine scent drift up from this brew. A little salty on the flavor, chewy texture, and a dry, bitter finish -- best part of this stout.

On tap at The Porterhouse, Covent Garden. The best of the Portehouse beers on this session by a considerable margin. Black, with a creamy head. Aroma diminished by icy serving temperature but some burnt, dry malt comes through. On the palate its very dry and quite bitter. Lots of roasty, smoky and salty notes. Very nice.

The stout is smooth, first you taste the flaked barley, then the more complex flavor as it warms up a little. Try it with their oysters if you are in Dublin!

Not a bad stout, a bit unusual at first but then you get used to it, it has a unique aroma and taste, possibly because of the Oysters. I don’t think I’d drink too many in the one sitting but certainly I like it before a meal.
