COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with fresh oyster. A smooth drinking aromatic stout with a discernible but unidentifiable aromatic aspect. Not suitable for vegetarians. This gently flavored stout has a roast malt character, full body and an aromatic character from the Goldings hops. Fresh oysters added during the brewing process, lend a discernible yet unidentifiable note.

Nitro-draught at The Wharf, Aalborg, as Dublin Bay Oyster, 4.8% ABV
Dark brown color, almost black, with creamy nitrogen head. Smooth texture with a dry mouthfeel. Less roasted malt and more liquorice than expected; some feeling of seaweed and salt, not fishy, a bit soapy; bitterness from the roasted malts.
Confusing, artificial, rather unpleasant.

Opaque black color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Some coffee, roasted malt and mild chocolate in the aroma. Ok body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Rich grassy, herbal, roasted, coffee and some licorice in the flavor.

Bottle - deep ruby red with a large frothy light brown head which lasts a good while. Some light lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roast malt and an acidic note. Taste is chocolatey, light roasted malt with hints of salt, caramel and honey. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Draught at the brewpub, Dublin. Dark brown with reddish tints, nitro head. Vague aroma of light roasted malts. Flavour is lightly roasted malt, some chocolate, a salty character. Creamy mouthfeel though light-bodied.

Keg at Porterhouse, Covent Garden, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Roasty, malty, milk chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, milk chocolate, caramel and slightly sweet. Quite moreish.

On tap in Prul?ek bar, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Pours dark with a 2 cm jead, smell is coffee, light yeast and grainy. Taste is mild, slightly hoppy. Little off flavour, but itís ok. A nice stout.

On tap at the Fraunces Tavern in NYC. Black hue, zero visibility with 1 finger thick frothy light khaki head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of dark malt and chocolate. Light bitter chocolate malt up front with a light malt and salty finish. This was a super thick stout which was awesome in my opinion. Creamy mouthfeel. The second one was evern better.

Draft at Porterhouse Covent Garden. Deep brown pour with thick tan head. Some roastiness in aroma plus the unidentifiable note which must be the oysters Bitter roasted taste and a hint of saltiness. Thin palate. Not my favourite

Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (Ä 3,90) in Oct 2014. Pours a dark brown with a mahogany glare, and a tan creamy head - big, uneven and leaves some lacing. Nose is black bread sourness with roasty malts and unsweetened chocolate, but as itís warmed some good deal of grassy herbal hops with moderate bitterness jump forward. Taste begins with very moderate roastiness, then turning more sweet of cocoa or chocolate, maybe even some berries, and finishes roasty and quite herbal bitter of the Golding hops. Somewhere in the middle I also get a faint saltiness - or maybe thatís just wishful thinking. Body medium, carbonation as well, palate somewhat sticky.

Had this on various occasions from bottle and once on tap at their London pub, but I just canít seem to get excited by it.

Bottle to bock glass. I get bubble gum, milk, salt, and toasted malt. Dark brown with a slight red tinge and a thin creamy off white head. Light sourness, salt, loads of malt, mace, and currants.

Draft - Slightly soured malts, cinnamon and molasses. Deep brown with a light brown head. Cocoa, toasted malts and some light spice. Tasty, but not a typical oyster stout.
