4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Fraunces Tavern in NYC. Black hue, zero visibility with 1 finger thick frothy light khaki head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of dark malt and chocolate. Light bitter chocolate malt up front with a light malt and salty finish. This was a super thick stout which was awesome in my opinion. Creamy mouthfeel. The second one was evern better.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (€ 3,90) in Oct 2014. Pours a dark brown with a mahogany glare, and a tan creamy head - big, uneven and leaves some lacing. Nose is black bread sourness with roasty malts and unsweetened chocolate, but as it’s warmed some good deal of grassy herbal hops with moderate bitterness jump forward. Taste begins with very moderate roastiness, then turning more sweet of cocoa or chocolate, maybe even some berries, and finishes roasty and quite herbal bitter of the Golding hops. Somewhere in the middle I also get a faint saltiness - or maybe that’s just wishful thinking. Body medium, carbonation as well, palate somewhat sticky.
Had this on various occasions from bottle and once on tap at their London pub, but I just can’t seem to get excited by it.
