2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at Porterhouse Temple bar, Dublin. Clear brown to dark brown body, medium creamy beige head. Aroma of low intensity: bread, crust, toasted malts. Taste is sourish to dry, unpleasantly (herbal) bitter finish. Bread, malts, herbs. Light slightly watery body, medium carbonation.
Not really bad, but below the average.

My Bottom Line:
This whipped cream version of a Porter reveals some fruitiness alongside roasted bitterness and mild acidity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A obviously creamy head of foam covers the darkest brown, producing tons of lacing.
-Nitrogen creates a really bloated mouthfeel in this case, muting some of the beer’s personality.
-Chocolate and a touch of toast are also tasted, eventually.
-Drinkability is high.
-Differences between their Wrasslers Stout, Oyster Stout and Plain Porter are diminished because of the intense nitrogen treatment.
On tap at their Temple Bar location.

Guinness achtig in geur, uiterlijk en smaak. Prima stout/porter natuurlijk! Maar niet beter dan een Guinness zelf.

Light porter that captures what Ireland is all about. I personally prefer this over most any other porter out there.

Empty scent. Maybe a little whiff of coffee. The taste of coffee and dark chocolate. Okay bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long time. Okay but not so impressive. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours black-ruby with a thick brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Rather thin taste at first, becomes richer and maltier towards the end. Not bad, not outstanding.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Black with beige head. Aroma of dark, roasted malts, coffee and a little chocolate. Flavour is slightly chocolate sweet with a roasted malty bitterness in the finish. Quite carbonated - a bit too much in my opinion. Still a decent beer, which could easily go as a session porter. I enjoyed this more though as a draget at Porterhouse, Dublin, as far as I can recall.
