Aroma: light toasted malts, some hints of coffee, bread. Appearance: dark brown, small white-ish head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: medium carbonation, light bitters continue, some sweetness appearing. Overall: nice Dry Porter, maybe a bit on the light side in aroma and palate. Pint at the Porterhouse Covent Garden, London.

Aroma: Smelling of burnt bread, cold coffee and old hay.
Appearance: A dark brown colored beer. A off-white head with some lacing and some curtains.
Taste: Tasting burnt bread, stale coffee and bitter peel.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, a coarse texture. A medium body with a very dry finish.
Overall: A bit too burnt and dry for me.
Note: Bottle 330 ml at home. Reviewed 2014-01-27.

Lots of coffee and a little bitterness. Smells like damp cellar and coffee. A little sour-sweet in the background as well. OK beer but a little too much coffee for my taste.

On tap at Fraunces Tavern in NYC. Opaque black with reddish hints and creamy head. Roasted coffee and malt on nose. Smells delicious, and taste follows through with rich, classic porter flavors, coffee, burnt caramel, toffee. Could drink this all through a winter’s day. Among the best porters around at this abv.
