Dark color with dark tiny head. The aroma has this kind of Irish creaminess. The taste is good, considering the rather low alcohol. A good one!1

On keg at the Porterhouse, London. Deep brown balck colour, creamy white head. Pleasantly chocolatey stout with a hint of roastiness. Medium bitterness. Good full palate. Solid and drinkable.

I may be fooled by the name of this beer, but to me this smells exactly like how I want my porters to smell like, i.e. plenty of chocolate and sweet chocolate sauce, and without the dark roasted ashy notes that I tend to pick up from dry stouts. I also get a generic fruitiness, and some dark berries and brown sugar in the back. The rather strong flavour follows the aroma, with additional dark caramel. Light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. The mouthfeel is rather dry-stout-ish: light and thin, dry and a bit watery. Luckily the carbonation is pleasantly moderate. And, oh, it’s very deep brown, has a beige, long-lived head that leaves lots of lacings. A nice porterstout!

Bottle 5% from Systembolaget in Sweden. Pours black. Aroma of roasted, bread and some raisin. Good, but weak, aroma. Taste is medium bitter with roasted, some dried dark fruits and some dark chocolate. A good porter.

Not bad.

Tap at Porterhouse Temple bar, Dublin. Clear brown to dark brown body, medium creamy beige head. Aroma of low intensity: bread, crust, toasted malts. Taste is sourish to dry, unpleasantly (herbal) bitter finish. Bread, malts, herbs. Light slightly watery body, medium carbonation.
Not really bad, but below the average.

My Bottom Line:
This whipped cream version of a Porter reveals some fruitiness alongside roasted bitterness and mild acidity.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A obviously creamy head of foam covers the darkest brown, producing tons of lacing.
-Nitrogen creates a really bloated mouthfeel in this case, muting some of the beer’s personality.
-Chocolate and a touch of toast are also tasted, eventually.
-Drinkability is high.
-Differences between their Wrasslers Stout, Oyster Stout and Plain Porter are diminished because of the intense nitrogen treatment.

On tap at their Temple Bar location.
