Pours chestnut brown with a nice, staying, creamy, beige head. Weak aroma, some nuts and lightly roasted. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly roasted, perhaps a bit one-sided with good chocolate and a roasted, dry aftertaste. MiP (6026), Flensburg, Germany Sep 9, 2008 Cask at GBBF08. Very dark brown colour. Small frothy tan head. Thin mouthfeel. Vinous flavour, roasted and sour. Rune (1809), Tromsø, Norway Sep 1, 2008 Third pint, draught, enjoying ourselves at Porterhouse London (“real ale Disneyland”). This one got a nice off-white, creamy head leaving good laceworks on the glass. Dark body colour. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Dark, slightly roasted, bittersweet malts in flavour. Velvet mouthfeel (05.08.2008). fata2683 (178), APO, New York, USA Aug 22, 2008 Good porter on draught at the Porterhouse in Dublin. Pours dark brown/black. Aroma is nice, almost spicy.
