"At last an Irish Red Ale with a traditional hop flavour to balance the fruit character of the yeast and the luscious caramel flavour notes delivered from the malts used, as opposed to artificially added."
Ingedients: Pale, Crystal, Wheat and Chocolate Malts; Galena, Nugget and East Kent Golding hops.

Draught@brew pub, Dublin. Red amber color, steady tan creamy head. Bready malty, brown toasted sugar aroma. Toasted, sugary flavor mixed with English hops. Aftertaste is hoppy. More character than the more commercial examples of "Irish Red".

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 On tap at The Porterhouse, Covent Garden. More copper than red. As harrisoni says the cold serving temperature made getting much aroma difficult. But there was a definite sweaty edge that I detected in the Vienna to this one too. Mainly malty flavour, not too "clean" tasting. Some toffee. But, generally, I just found this rather dull and bland.

Draught at Porterhouse, Covent Garden with Yogi Beera, Pivo, ChrisO and Kook. Too cold to get a good aroma, but I was assured by the others that it smelt of sweaty shoes. Some red berry fruit, not a lot of other flavour. Creamy and a bit bland

A more hoppy version of Irish red ale. Halfway between an Irish red and a British bitter, perhaps?

(Covent Garden Location, London) Clear light copper body topped by a creamy off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is mild, medium sweet. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, coffee, some nutty, light chocolate. Smooth, light-medium body.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2013 Draught at "PorterHouse" - (Covent Garden) London . Compact foam, smooths down and homogenous, typical of the irish dry. Burnt red color, firm and little shining. Scent of burnt wood, coal and parched malt. Extremely bitter and dry taste. Much smooth and dried. Bitter and singed end, long duration.

[Draft at Porterhouse, London] A deep red beer with a beutiful lasting creamy off-white head. The aroma is slightly sour malty with hints of roastyness. The flavor is sweet malty with loads of caramel notes, but also roasted malt and hops giving it a fresh bitter end. The mouthfeel is very creamy.
