3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours copper, white head. Caramel, dusty malt, a bit of that berry hop from the EKG or whatever. Flavour is bread, a bit of berry and even some roast. This threw me off because it seemed fairly bright and dusty at the same time and Iíve always considered those mutually exclusive. Alright.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beautiful creamy head. Nice brown body. Balanced aroma of fruit and coffee. The flavour contains much coffee, some chocolate and a some sweet fruit. A full palate. Interesting combination of fruit and coffee, it works well here. I get a stout-feeling from this beer

Draught @ Porterhouse. This was one of the less impressive brews they served.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 330ml bottle, Porterhouse Red Ale is an impressive blood-red colour. The aroma is faint, but I suppose with enough imagination you can make out something vaguely earthy. The taste definitely had a roasted hops zing to it, and a faint aftertaste of what I can only describe as "Marmite". Not bad, but forgettable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Pours reddish orange with a moderate almond head. Aroma is not very strong but has fruit, nuts, some malt sweetness and some earthy hops. Taste is earthy, a bit like tree bark, some red fruit and a caramel finish. Body is medium and crisp. Overall, this worked rather well. Give it a try.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from Bradleyís, enjoyed at home. Pours a clear red amber with a thin bubbly off-white head. Nice woody aroma of nuts, red berries and roasty malts. Almost an element of Cadburyís Fruit & Nut about it. Medium sweetness to begin with, followed by a crisp bitterness and finishing with a nice, lightly rounded sweetness. Subtle caramel note comes through as you get through the beer. Quite woody and nutty again. A little too lively for a red ale, I think, but a nice dry finish to it all the same. A completely different beer to when itís nitroed on draught, but I like both for different reasons. Itís not as refreshing as the draught version, but itís got a bit more character about it. Decent red ale.
