"At last an Irish Red Ale with a traditional hop flavour to balance the fruit character of the yeast and the luscious caramel flavour notes delivered from the malts used, as opposed to artificially added."
Ingedients: Pale, Crystal, Wheat and Chocolate Malts; Galena, Nugget and East Kent Golding hops.

Aroma: sweet, malty bread, some caramel. Appearance: clear amber, medium, creamy, white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: caramel malts, sweets continue, lively carbonation, some red fruits. Overall: OK Irish Ale, nothing too special though. Pint at Porterhouse, Soho.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: moderate-low malt aroma with caramelly notes and slight diacetyl. clean fermentation profile and no hops discernible. APPEARANCE: dark ambar to reddish copper. translucent. low beige head with average retention. TASTE: very little caramel flavour with a roasted presence. medium-low bitterness with a dry and somewhat roasted finish. clean fermentation profile. PALATE: medium-light to light body with moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a good irish red ale more balanced towards roasted and dry finish, but still a good style example.

Well it was not bad, but it was nothing to write home about either. Done.
Amber color with a thick off white head. Good lacing. Looks very nice. Some roast, mild fruity and some toffee. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Ok the flavor do not vanish fast. So nothing wrong with it. Just not my cup of ale.

Pint at The Porterhouse, Covent Garden, London (£4.10):
Not a bad tasting beer, pretty much as you would expect from the style and the brewery without it truly excelling or standing out from the crowd. The beer had quite a good balance and a nice, easy-going flavour with some good earthy malts and sweetness but it’s probably not one I’d seek out again.

Bottle. Hazy deep red-orange, off white head. Toasty sweet caramel, vague fruit nuances, lightly bitter finish.

Brown/dark reddish color with a light beige head with medium retention and moderate lacework. Aroma has notes of toasted malts with some dry fruits. Flavor with eartthy notes, some caramelish and dry fruits, toasted malts as well. Slightly caramelish and bittery final.

Clear copper color with nice foam head. The smell is ambery but not convincing. The taste is well carbonated, malty sweet but not too well done. Not too special. Little dry aftertaste.

Clear amber color with big head. Aroma of caramel malts, toffee, a bit berries. Taste is dry, very dry, bitter caramel, a bit nutty. Carbonation is rather high for a classic ale. I like Red Ales and I like dry stuff, but this one?s a bit too dry for a red ale balance. Pleasant aftertaste though.
