No head at all, no carbonation, slight hops, and not much flavor. Another below average beer on their sample plate.

Pint, cask, at the porterhouse. Copper pour, not much head. Great lacing. Maris otter, dusty malt aroma. Sweet malty flavour. Flat, oily texture. Short finish. Ok.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a copper-ish color. Aroma is a little hoppy. Flavor is good and hoppy, which is good. Mouthfeel is a little on the light side, but thats good for a beer so hoppy. I approve.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Porterhouse bars in Dublin many times over the years. This rating is for the latest pint Iíve had which was freshly tapped and in good condition (not always the case, unfortunately!). Light chestnut pour with thin off-white froth. Aroma is pretty muted, but gives herbs, wood, light nuttiness, caramel, slight vegetal note. Taste isnít too complex: light caramel and woodiness with a touch of herb and an earthily bitter finish. Very brief finish. A bit thin and watery. Not a bad bitter - certainly a good option to have for an cheap afternoon sessionable pint in the otherwise bitter-free zone that is Dublin.

Tap (Nitro), The Porterhouse, Dublin: Fruity (grapefruit and some berries) nose, which is probably a strong point. The hops certainly come through as fruits as opposed to their weedy flavour latter on. Tons of flavour for such a weak beer. Quite a weedy flavour and quite bitter. Thereís some slight biscuity nuttiness and some toasted flavours, but really itís all about the Sticklebract. I want to not like it but I canít. Itís certainly not great, but it is a pretty decent effort and definitely different.

Tap. Smal dead head. Nice brown body. Aroma with nuts and som unidentified sweet rotten smell. A bit too sweet flavour. Nut is dominating but there are hints of fruit. Gets better after a while, though. Ok average finish. (Porterhouse Dublin, 16.03.07)

Cask at Porterhouse Dublin December 2007. Deep copper color with one finger head with large bubbles that quickly disappears. Decent aroma, some spiciness and malt present. The palate is a little bit watery and sticky. Flavor is okay, but seems a little off balance.
