Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, peat - smoked, herby. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Bitternes is peat - smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (040808) MiP (6026), Flensburg, Germany Sep 8, 2008 Cask at GBBF08. Clear dark chestnut colour. Good frothy white head. The flavour starts off roasted, turns a little spicy but not very good. Slightly rough bitterness in the finish. Rune (1809), Tromsø, Norway Sep 1, 2008 Third pint, draught. Bronze-coloured body under a fragile ring of bubbles. Some hints of malts in aroma. Vague, but a bit of progressive hop bitterness in flavour. Diluted palate (Sample tray at The Porterhouse London, 05.08.2008). Skinnyviking (2726), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 16, 2008 Cask. Low fluffy off-white lasting head. Clear amber body. Mild malt aroma with a heavy hops aroma. Pretty sharp and hops dominated flavor with low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Middling coarse & mid-sized lasting frothy head, clear dark amber, hint of malt sweetness on the nose, buttery-grainy body, slightly spicy finish with long bitter aftertaste.
