A new year-round beer. With a darker golden color and some of the most popular citrusy IPA hops, as well as Sterling for a bit of spiciness in the finish, this IPA is hoppy like a Northwest IPA should be. Five different hops and a soft malt backing make for one great, easy-drinking ale.

IBU 70. Tasted in frozen pint glass. Dark copper color. Poured with a thick head. Hoppy and somewhat oaky and malty. Thick taste that's a bit more organic than I normally enjoy. Never been a big Portland brewing fan though, so take it with a grain of salt ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Safeco Field, Seattle. Thin foam, clear amber gold. Sweet malty aroma, not bad. Not a typical nw IPA. Creamy bitter, a little caramel. Ok.

Bottle at a friend’s place. Darker colored pour, malts pretty forward, basic resiny pine hops but not even a standout in that domain. Pretty mediocre.

Dark and broding. This is a hopped up beer with dark volume and a real complexity.

22 oz bottle. From a gas station in Lincoln City, OR. Clear amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma with some bitterness and malty sweetness. The flavour is harsh hoppiness, sweetness and bitterness. Not the best IPA Portland (as a city) can offer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Walmart. Dark amber in color. Some is somewhat hoppy with a bit of a sour scent to it. Bready hop flavors up front. Some maltiness and grapefruit peel as well. Drinkable IPA, nothing more.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 While a better than average beer, this one falls short in the face of stiff competition from the incredible IPAs which hail from the Northwest. Nothing stands out, it's not a particularly pretty beer to pour, the aroma lacking, and for me, nothing notable as far as flavor. Drinkable, but with so many other great IPAs from Oregon, this one is not worth a second date. #GoDutch Update: the second glass I noticed some floral, rose undertones, which given the hometown of the brewer, deserves some props. #RoseCity
