Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 29 Jan 2013. Poured a very dark brown, with an off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, cocoa and some not-too-overpowering coffee. Roasted malt flavours, with some burnt sugar and some spruce-like hop character. Finish was nice lingering bitter dark chocolate, burnt malt and treacle.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into pint glass from draft. Pours a dark ruby colour, lively head that settles quickly. Aromas of chocolate and coffee but nothing special. Taste is toasted malt, slight sourness, quite bland overall though with little to no finish. Mouthfeel is quite thin. Not the worst brew but certainly not the best.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Queens Head WC1. Dark brown and slightly thin looking. A smooth and roasty beer, I got coffee which seems odd as everyone else says chocolate..hmm. Tasty enough without being particularly memorable.
