(Cask at King William IV, Leyton, London, 25 Apr 2013) Golden amber colour with brief, white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of toffee, caramel and toasty malt. Malty taste with nuts, toffee, toast and a slightly earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite enjoyable.

Cask at the Barley Mow W1. Brownish bitter, thin head. Quite a pleasant quaffable hoppy bitter, ever so slightly funky hop finish, bit like rustic English hoppy bitters used to be. Tasty and enjoyable, maybe not quite fully balanced.

Amber, keeping some of its head. Very sweet, bready, butterscotch, malt, slightly cloying but still a nice beer.

Cask at The Friend at Hand in London. Pours golden amber with a white head. Light flora and caramel aromas. Med body. It’s nicely bitter. Flavor seems floral with somewhat spicy malt. Or vice versa. Or coffee? Bit complicated in the end. Nice for a break.

[cask at the 2013 London Drinker Festival] Clear golden amber beer with a thin, white, head. Reduces quickly to a lacing. Sweet, bready aroma. Starts quite sweet on the flavour too, but has a bitter tang to it afterwards. Quite caramelly. Tastes like a Caley beer, to my Edinburgh palate [07032013]

Cask conditioned at The Gunmakers, Clerkenwell, London. Amber with slight head. Heavily caramelised beer, butterscotch, dry and bitter, really pretty disappointed with this.
