3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Magpie, typical golden ale look and nose - gold fruity malt, hint of tropical fruit - then an initial faint swetness on the palate is swiftly overtaken by a sharp, dry and almost acrid grapefruity bitterness, yet with the malt still there as an undercurrent. Nice.

Cask-conditioned at the Beer Emporium, Bristol 3/9/2013. Golden with a slight white head. Sweetish with some heavily herbal hops, which reminded me of TCP. Not good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at The Windsor Castle Kensington. Bright gold with a tiny white head. The nose is biscuit, soft summery citrus fruits. Lemon drizzle cake. A bit ’o pee. The taste is sugar cookie, juicy lemon meat. Dry citrus finish. Simple stuff, but eminently drinkable. Light body, soft. A nice golden. I have to admit that this brewery has continually exceeded my modest expectations.
