4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Basically this is a very solid and consistent IPA, nothing over the top, just clean and balanced. It pours a medium amber, not much of a head. Smell was lights malts and some sweet hop bitterness. The taste was just a simple lighter hoppy IPA, with some faint malts on the front. Very drinkable, I could sit down a out many of these away.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had my hopes up for this brew. It poured much lighter than anticipated. Light orange. Aroma is heavy in diacetyl(so butterscotch). There is a faint hop aroma, but it is heavily immersed in butterscotch trying to shine through. Such a great brewpub I hate to give a less than stellar review, because this probably represents one "off" batch

On tap at the brewpub on 05/15/2010. Slightly hazy amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet citrus and floral hop aroma. Big citrus and floral hop flavor on a pale malt background. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 04/08/2010
Fruit and big hop aromas. Golden coloured a little rich on the palate fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a malt finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at GBBF 2010. An amber coloured pour with a medium fluffy white head. An appealing hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, sweet, citrus fruit, hint of caramel. I consumed a lot of this at GBBF 2010, a very nice IPA.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from the tap into a Portsmouth brewery pint glass.
The color is a bright, hazy amber with about a finger of foamy white head and some nice lacing.
The smell is a bit citrus and a light pine. The is some really strong earthy hops in the nose and it bites at your nostrils.
The taste is pretty darn bitter. I didn’t check the IBUs but I am willing to bet it is high. Some tangy bite that makes you make a face on the first couple of sips. A bit of a earthy pine flavor in the back and a resin flavor up front. Some sweetness does come out and seems to be riding the edge along the bitter heart of this beer.
The feel of this beer is medium bodied. It was easy going down but a pretty bitter beer but not the most bitter I have had but it was up there. It had a bit high ABV then most beers but it was not too strong. A really good IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A big thanks to portia99 for this growler. I hope you enjoy your growler of Russian River Blind Pig!
Appearance: Orange body reminiscent of a pumpkin ale with a 1 finger white crown that shows a bit of retention and loads of lacing.
Smell: A delicious hop medley that of which I have not smelled before. Possibly a combo of floral hops, chinook and hallertau?
Taste: Juicy hops with a nice dose of pine, an interesting malt profile, a touch of peach, perhaps orange but not overstated. Loads of bitter hops in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and slightly chewy.
Drinkability: Would score it higher if the flavor profile was better.
NOTE: THIS BEER SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED AS IT WARMED
Serving type: growler

22oz bottle from straffordmilitia on BA - thanks, Ben! Nice copper pour with a rocky head and a fairly active body. Spicy and resinous hops in the nose, which I was far more in the mood for than floral fruits. Mouthfeel is nice and full, carbonation playful but not too much so. The flavors reveal a bit more than just bitters, with a gently layered malt profile that emerges very impressively, and some softer qualities to the fresh hop taste. Not outrageously good, but yummy.
