COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the early 1900ís, Portsmouth, OH, was known as Peerless City, USA. Continuing the tradition of excellence, our Peerless Pale Ale is highly hopped with Cascade and Pearle hops for this styleís characteristic bitter finish. This ale is well balanced with spicy citrus notes from the yeast & dry hopped for a fruity aroma.

It looks cloudy with a copper/golden color and a medium white head. The aroma is equal parts hops and malt. The aroma is bread, citrus, nuts and something I canít put my nose on. The taste is somewhat even. It is more sweet than anything but it also has a bitter hint. It has a medium body with a somewhat creamy texture. The finish is light bitter and sweet. This is a damn good beer and seeing as how it comes 1.5hr south of me I can probably put up the money for bar price.

@Weilands Market in Columbus. Hazy dirty amber with pillowy head that drops to a head cover, curtains of lace. Taste is caramel malt with hay and toast, joined midway through by assertive hops that, while strong, allow the malt to continue to share. Well conceived and quite drinkable.

12oz bottle - pours pale amber with ivory head. Nose is caramel and floral. Buttery. Bitter. This is kind of foul. Drain pour.

Bottle pour deep golden. Nose sweet malt belgian ester almost, some floral/fruity hop. Taste bitter bite up front. Strong malt then fruity sweet with some spice. Bitter finish. I would believe that this was made with belgian yeast from some of the fruit and spice.

12 ounce bottle stamped with 12229070130811 on it, I have absolutely no idea what that means. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy amber color with a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like bready malt/wheat, along with some earthy/spicy hops. It tastes similar to the aroma, but with the addition of a bit of dried fruit and some grapefruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick and smooth. Not a bad brew at all, bought a single bottle at Weilandís. If Iím ever in the area Iíll have to stop in and try this fresh. Iíll have to try some of their other brews if I ever come across them.
