2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at brewery. Dark amber in color with a beige head. Smell is bready malt smell. Taste is the same with some medium bitterness and scotch taste. Medium bodied. It's does have a hint of a funky aftertaste that I don't like. I like scotch ales but this is below average.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A "Fighting Tartan Scotch Ale" on tap at the brewpub in Portsmouth, OH.
Pour is light mahogany with excellent clarity and a head which dies down fairly quickly but not completely, leaving a very durable ring and spotty lacing. Sweet aroma with caramel and medium roast malts plus a hint of peat smoke. More fruity than usual. Medium body and carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the brewpub. This brew is a mostly clear dark orange-amber color with a thin beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bready malt and hops, with a touch of sweet caramel. Medium-bodied with a sweet malt character and flavors of hops and fruit. The finish is malty and sweet, and swings toward the hoppy side on the aftertaste. Decent overall.
