Draft @ brewpub on 28 Nov, 2012. Proper glassware. Hazy copper pour with thin white head leaving light lace down the sides. Nose is caramel and some dank, muskiness. Not much hop presence and that’s fine because it does have an English feel to it. Malt with a weak Earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium in body. It was served to cold. It got much better as it warmed. Would be nice on cask.

Had on-tap @ Portsmouth. Pours a copper alloy amber with carbonation not even a fingernail in length. Tastes and smells of grass trimmings, caramelized sugar, wet soil, spice and spent grains. Ends slightly more bitter.

Dark copper pour, one finger head and nice lacing. Lots of toasted caramel like malt, grainy sweet with a very mild hop finish, but enough to make it well balanced. Rich, full, smooth mouthfeel...a delightful feel on the tongue. Another solid beer from my favorite place on earth.

Bomber- PPRBSG 09. Pours a deep copper light amber with a thin lasting head. Aroma is sharp cheesy hairy earthy aroma- floral hops, toasted sharp crystal malts, molasses sweetness. Flavor is sweet caramel, toffee, with floral hops, herbs, grass and earth, a bit metallic as well, along with some mineral bitterness in the end- Not bad.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Ratebeer Spring Gathering. Deep amber pour. The aroma is nutty and lightly sweet. There is a bit of earthy sweetness with a bit of light spice. Flavour is a little bit watery but there is a nice light sweetness and a bit of bitterness. There is a light astringency, but it’s not bad.
