Draft at the source. Murky yellow color, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of black pepper and lemon bubblegum, very nice. Taste is also peppery bubblegum.

Cloudy gold pour. Wheat aroma, tart, lemons, light saline. Flavor is such a cool mix of saltiness, wheat, lemons. Love it!

Growler… Cloudy peach-colored ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head that diminishes to a small, creamy, stubborn, white cap. The aroma is a marriage of CornNuts and spice-rack coriander. Light-bodied and mildly creamy with lively carbonation. Perfectly balanced flavor. Nice saltiness without being overbearing, but enough to make you say: “hey, this is a gose!” Just the right amount of pleasant bitterness. Finishes crisp with faint bitterness and a slight trace of salt. Growler courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Thanks, John!

Gabf. Moderately hazy, light yellow appearance with a pearl white head. Slightly spicy, yeasty, wheat malty aroma. Moderately spicy, yeasty, quite salty, wheat malty flavor. Interesting but I have a bit of a hard time dealing with the salt.

My Bottom Line:
This lean and subtle Gose profits from its delicate tartness and spiciness to build a quenching experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the veiled pale blond.
-Salt is mostly perceived in the nose.
-This feels even lighter than it is.
-Coriander is well levelled with the rest of the flavor profile.
-I would have liked a softer mouthfeel. Carbonation was prickly and made up of tons of minute bubbles. Poor head retention too…

Bottle.

Bottle at RBSG. Pours cloudy gold. White head. Nose/taste of orange, wheat, light tartness and spice. A bit salty. Medium body.

Pours hazy murky dark sort of grapefruit juice with no head. The aroma has some fruit notes like dull apricot, coy apple-ness and faint yeasty notes. The taste is smooth with wheat notes, hay, meadows, a touch of salt, smooth yeasty like spices and subdued light skinned fruitiness. It ends with salt on the edge of the palate. Cool brew.

In short: A by-the-book Gose (wheaty, salty, etc.). Decent.
How: Bottle shared at RBSG 2011 grand tasting
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head leaving little lacings
In long: Nose of saltwater algae. Taste is smooth, wheat, notes of coriander, mild tartness, medium saltiness level. I have limited experience with the Gose style but from the ones I’ve had I’d say this one was a by-the-book Gose. It was a fun style when it first reappeared and became a retro-trend but I’m already getting bored by it. I might be wrong about my appreciation of the style though because if there is an aspect about myself that I’m totally confident I can always rely on it is my lack of confidence in myself.

Poured hazy yellow with white head, aroma brought notes of slight fruit, honey, some spice, funky barnyard, touch of salt, hints of lactic tartness as well in there. Taste was fairly nice, notes of some fruity wheat, honey and biscuit notes, some slight funk and lactic notes going well with the hint of salt that you found. Wish the salt was a bit more pronounced, but a fairly well done brew.
