On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy gold with a light, filmy white head. Very sweet-smelling aroma with notes of yeast and candi. Sweet flavor, some banana and apple, gum, yeast, candi. Medium bodied with massaging, fine carbonation. Slightly biting finish, weak yeast and some sweetness. Alright.

Bottle thanks to Jblauvs. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of banana and clove with a good amount of sweet wheat and some other spice. Flavor begins with more wheat but is quickly joined by banana and clove.

Cloudy straw color, faint bubbles, white head. Bubblegum nose. Distinct bubblegum/ banana flavor and hefe spice. Lighter overall on those characteristics but decent and mostly to style when compared to Bavarians

Bottle shared by Sean at our recent tasting...A hazy nice gold color with good carbonation...The taste and aroma are both pretty nice, clove on the front a banana comes through, pretty strong for a hefe. A nice bite at the end as well. Medium feel and pretty easy to drink.
Not the best hefe but worth trying.

On tap at Portsmouth brewpub. Pours out a hazy gold topped with a cream head. Aroma was tons of bananas, spice, and belg yeast. Taste was more of the strong banana, along with a nice sweet balance. I always love a good German Hef.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Goodgrief (1608) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Poured cloudy, with nice head and lacing. Banana like esters dominate this one with subtle clove spice finish. Definitely heavier on the banana, which I prefer in a hefe. Mouthfeel was highly carbonated. Not as smooth as I would have liked, but deliciously flavorful. I’d rather have this if I ever come back in hotr weather.

On tap at Portsmouth. Served in a regular pint glass. A decent glowing light orange color brew with good banana-bubblegum aromas. Flavor is dominated by the banana creme pie flavor, but the clove does come through a bit. There is also a bit of a citrus note with this one. A very refreshing and highly sessionable hefe! Right up there with the best German ones I’ve had.
