22oz Bottle, purchased from the brewery. Banana pudding aroma. Strong and creamy. This has a really, really thick malty decoction texture, which gets a little strong and heavy when paired with the extra-strong Banana yeast phenols. I appreciate that this doesn’t wuss out on either the phenols nor the malt structure, but it’s just a little too thick and heavy for the style for me and has loss some of the finesse, grace, and drinkability that classic examples show.

A buddy in southern New Hampshire sent this up. Bottled 5 days ago. Poured into an Ommegang glass.

A - Half finger solid white head. Golden brown with a bit of haze.

S - Bready yeast, wheat, blueberries and birch wood

T - Wow. big wheat and bananas! LOVING the banana taste. Standard hef at first taste then goes down with great big banana and blueberry notes.

M - Very little carbonation. Heady body, wheat lingers

O - This is great. Not the best Hef I’ve ever had but the banana is a nice touch.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy gold with a light, filmy white head. Very sweet-smelling aroma with notes of yeast and candi. Sweet flavor, some banana and apple, gum, yeast, candi. Medium bodied with massaging, fine carbonation. Slightly biting finish, weak yeast and some sweetness. Alright.
