Pastor (253), Maine, USA Jun 20, 2008 On tap at the brewery
Pale hazy orange/yellow body, small white head that goes away too quickly
Aromas of bubblegum and bananas light grain background along with the customary glove spice note
Flavors are light wheat and sweet fruit bananas and orange almost no bitters here at all, light to medium body almost no carbonation at all
I tend to drink this fairly often the only thing I wish was that the carbonation was increased. I due know if you get it from the downstairs tap the carbonation is slightly better. A good Hefe all an all
urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 Very cloudy, very bubbly, very not my style although many do enjoy its taste and texture. RCL (1002), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pours rather dark for a hefe. Super intense bubblegum banana aroma, but the flavor is not overpowering. Very nice.
JohnQPublic (157), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jul 26, 2008 Draught @ Portsmouth Brewpub. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a big fluffy head. Nose is massive banana - to the point of being almost overwhelming and artificial tasting. Taste is some spicy, crisp wheat and more gigantic banana - like laughy taffy in character. Very sweet, but domeinated by the fruity, artificial banana note. Spicy, clean finish. Disappointing when placed up against the quality of the other Portsmouth brews we tried. Crisp carbonation and medium to light body. Rciesla (712), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jul 3, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Pours a golden amber orange body with a thin white head. Bananas and fruity esters. Over ripe banana’s sweet malt and a lil etoh. Very clean taste with risidual sweetness. Just overly sweet. My least favorite of the day. SQNfan (436), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jun 30, 2008 On tap at the brewpub during the KtG release: One of my favorite beers of the lineup on tap that day. This had wonderful power and concentration with classic banana and clove aromas. This just really hit my sweet spot on this day!
