A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very sweet and roasted with strong coffee notes, and the flavor is a little less sweet than the aroma indicates, but the roasted malt is more present in the flavor and again it has a strong coffee presence.

Bottled@Fonefan. Pitch black colour, big beigeish brown head. Aroma is licorice, alcohol, mild roastiness as well as some vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is licorice, alcohol, vanilla, dark dry fruits as well as some mild wooden and cocoalike notes. Strongflavoured, yet balanced imperial stout. Warms your guts, as well as all other intestines on the way down to the stomach.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Very black, creamy beige head. Aroma of winegums, butter and milk chocolate. Full bodied with rich flavours of honey, toffee, blueberry, salmiak and coffee. Intense, yet relaxed and with unique qualities. Worthy it’s reputation as a world class imperial stout.

Bottle. Pours a black color wit a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate, licorice and chocolate aroma with some hints of vanilla. Smooth roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor with hints of licorice and some vinous dark fruit hints. Has a smooth roasted malty chocolate and coffee finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

26th September 2010. Shared by the uber generous Urbain at the Struise Brewing School. Cheers Urbs!
Opaque dark brown beer. Residual tan head. Light palate, mildly effervescent dark malts. Subtle coffee and buttercream in the finish. Subtle red fruit in the undertone. All very well joined up. Light finish. Hugely drinkable RIS, light and tasty. Just shaded the Southampton for me.
