lb4lb (1339), Austin, Texas, USA May 30, 2008 Bottle in trade for Pastor (joepais). Thanks a ton for this one!!
Pours black with a medium sized tan head. Smell is roasty, chocolate, and not over the top at all. Taste is rich, chocolate cake-y-ness, but in a semi sweet sort of way. Fudge like and still hoppy and rich with light carbonation. This was a great brew and lived up to my expectations.
Thanks again for this one, Joe!
travita (707), Lewisville, Texas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Black with brown twinges with a nice tan head. Smell is dark fruits, raisans, malts, and good sweetness. Taste is sweet, sugary, medium body, malts, and dark fruits. Overall good beer. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2008 Courtesy of TPD975. Fairly boozy aroma with burnt fruit and malt notes. Lesser hints of chocolate follow. Flavor is much the same, but the alcohol is even more pronounced and it tastes much more alcoholic than the abv indicates. Very nice mouth feel and quite solid, but slightly disappointing when considering the hype around it. blutt59 (620), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 8, 2008 bottle, black pour with no head, nose is chocolate and coffee, flavor is the best stout i have had, very smooth with a great body and density, finish is perfect fishingnet (800), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2008 Bottle courtesy tpd975.
