3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with a slight ruby tint and thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malts, faint coffee, earthy notes, fig, and light spice. Flavor is roast malts forward with chocolate, light earthy hops, and some dark fruit esters; watery with a dry finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

pours clear very dark brown with a very small light beige head, little retention. roasted grains, oats, wheat, milk chocolate, spices, bit of soy and unfortunately a dash of nail polish, earthiness. moderate to low carbonation, medium body - oily, relatively dry bitter coffee and grassy-earthy finish. decent.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown color with tan head that quickly disappears. I’m not really tasting the Belgian yeast that advertised. In fact, I’m not tasting much of anything. Watery mouth feel and no distinct coffee or chocolate flavors that coming with stouts normally. Honestly, quite a letdown, because I expected so much better.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Chat Noir is French for Black Cat, and the style is the same. Smooth mouthfeel, owing to yeast. Very good drinkability. Dark brown coloured.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Roasty malts on the nose, some dark sugar and Belgian yeast. Mild roast and sugar in the flavor, very faint Belgian candi. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. OK finish, bit of light roast. Pleasant but could use some more balls.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Nearly black and a nice dense tan head. Medicinal roasty nose. Band-aid flavor with syrupy sweet roast malt. Palate was flat. I was hoping for so much more when I saw it but after what my eyes saw this just didn’t work at all for me.
