Northeast Bucket List Trip Beer #53. Keg at the brewpub as "Rye Not." Pours a hazy orange with a thin creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of rye and pale malt. The taste is the same. Medium bodied, strong lingering bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a murky pale yellow with a thin white head that lingers. Lemon aroma. Fruity beginning with a hop bite at the end. The style of wheat beer is not my favorite and I’m not fond of the rye beers but its okay. I’d take one if offered but I probably wouldn’t look to buy it.

From a bottle from the brewery. Pours murky orange brown with a bubbly off white head. Tastes like malt, pine hops, dry grapefruit, nutty caramel resin. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like nutty grains and light hops.

Flavor is dry malts, rye, light floral hops, faint citrus, and faint honey; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at brewery. Hazy golden with a large bubbly white head. Aroma and flavor are both of sweeter malts, cereal, rye bread, tropical fruit, and booze. Slight honey in the finish.

(Rating #4431)

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Liquor coloured body with a bit of a head. Tasted like gin, rather than rye, so-so drinkable.

MJGG (952) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 9, 2012

Pours slightly hazed deep gold into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to hug rim leaving spot lacing. Sweet toffee aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and toffee upfront turning to mild bready rye in the medium length finish.
