3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 DavoleBomb (1444) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Poured into a pils glass. Big thanks to andrewinski1 for this.
4.0 A: Clear dark brown color. Three fingers of pillowy head with pretty good retention, but only a bit of lacing.
3.5 S: Mostly dry, dusty, and graiy with a moderate level of roast and char. Just a touch of apple fruitiness. Not bad.
4.0 T: The taste is a lot more interesting than the nose suggests. Not nearly as dry - indeed, there is good amount of nondescript malty sweetness. The sweetness is balanced by roasted and charred malt flavors. Overally, grainy and biscuity. Hops give an herbal and grassy vibe. Pretty good.
4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy. Good here.
3.0 D: This isn’t bad, but after a while the sweetness becomes a bit much despite the roastiness pounding the tongue. I’d drink this again though.

On Tap @ brew pub.. Black color with hues of brown in good lighting. Aroma is roasted malt, a hint of chocolate. Mouthfeel is smooth.. Flavors is decent, touch of chocolate, lightly roasted notes (kind of like a light toasted bread).. Over all it has drinkability. Not amazing, but still good. I would order again.

Black pour at the brewery. Aroma is roast, some milk chocolate, a bit of earthiness. Mouthfeel is smooth, drinkable, and creamy. Flavors are nice, a bit of bitter baking chocolate, some earthy dryness, lightly roasted. Pretty Tasty
