An unfiltered, medium-bodied amber ale brewed in the tradition of the German rauchbiers. We begin by smoking a small quantity of pale malt over applewood chips, then blending it back in with the grist. The result is a lingering smoky finish.

Pours with a small head and a clear orange/red color. Malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Slightly sweet ale with a bit of smoke. Don’t be expecting a huge in-your-face smokefest like Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock. Pleasant enough and a good introduction to the style.
