Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Bottle. Orange colored pour with a pumpkin / cinnamon smell. Taste is sweet and kind of bland. Pretty much not a good beer. Not really a fan of pumpkin beers, but especially ones like this.

Deep golden with medium head and decent lace. Taste of tart malt and light pumpkin and spice. Actually, the odor is better than the taste, as the balance between malt and carbonation bittering is noticeably off. Fair, not good.

Single bottlee purchased at Zyn Liqour in Calgary, AB on 06/11/2011. Colour: Dark orange and brown, low light head. Nose: Pumpkin and pumpkin pie crust, hand cream, hints of cheese yeast. Taste: Light sweet, light bitter, medium sour. One of the more distinct pumpkin tastes of all the pumpkin beers I’ve tried, which was a pleasent surprise. A bit of spice. Some sour citrus late.

Light amber color with a very little white head. Good pumpkin aroma. Taste has also a little pumkin.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

A: Orange copper color with a light tan 1 finger thick head that dissipates quickly into a strong lacing with minimal foam left.

S: Strong pumpkin and cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves spices. Malt hints. Very pleasing scent.

T: Malty, pumpkin flavors, and spices with very slight hops flavor. Very tasty beer.

M: Medium carbonation, medium to full bodied. Not as full as a stout, but it’s creamy and rich.

O: One of my favorites of the year, excellent smell that is right on with the taste.

Nice orange color with a small head. The aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg waft up the nose. The taste shows off the pumpkin backed up by a bready malt base.

Bottle. Deep Amber color. Nice clear complexion with off white head. Aroma of vegetable, pumpkin, spice, and hop. Toasty malt, pumpkin, cinnamon, and other spice flavors. Clean bitter finish. Very nice.
