Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Bottle. Poured a clear orange/amber color with a two finger off white head. Aroma of spices and pumpkin. Flavor was the same with a hoppy finish that balances the beer well. Medium body with good carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from the LCBO. Pours a slightly dark orange with a large, off-white head, that actually laces the glass really well eventually. Aroma is really nice, all the pumpkin ale awesome deliciousness you’d expect, spices, fuller malt presence, some extra ’zing’ of nutmeg, or something, and something I’m not used to in the style, hops. The flavour is more of the same with definite hop bite in the finish which balances out a very sweet beer and is a very nice aspect to my palate. Really nice malty aftertaste with a hint of the pumpkin. Very characteristic malts and hops of this brewery. Very nicely done!

Pours an orange color, with more head than most pumpkin beers. Aroma of pumpkin, not so much the spice, flavor is of a pale ale with nearly no hint of pumpkin in it. This seems to just be a pale ale with a small dash of flavor, so small that if I drank this blindfolded I would not have guessed this was pumpkin ale.

nothing on the nose. possibly a bit of nutmeg on the finish. Its a brown ale or a poor o-fest. Nothing pumpkin, spice, or flavorful about this beer.

12 oz bottle pours medium orange with a great pumpkin aroma, but also has a vegetal smell too. Nice sweet body with a good pumpkin flavor. There is also some cinnamon, nutmeg and maybe cardamom. Not bad. Less spice flavor than most.

Wow, looks like I liked it better than most people. I was skeptical, but it is the season for pumpkin beers right? Nice amber/orange color like the label says. Off white head with nice lacing. Great pumpkin and spice taste that is just a hint, very enjoyable, not over powering at all. They really did a ncie job with this one.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a clear orange-amber color with a foamy, off-white head. Spotted, sheety lace marks the glass well. The aroma is everything that I hate about pumpkin beer, which is to say overly spiced, buttery, and vegetal. Coriander, cardamom, and nutmeg dominate, while notes of buttery graham cracker crust finish off the nose. Flavors follow suit, with the coriander taking on a bitter, earthy spice bite. The palate is just shy of medium bodied, with balanced carbonation and a dry, astringent finish. Just another strange, unappealing pumpkin brew.
