Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

12 ounce bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Good pumpkin aroma. The taste is kind of thin with barely any pumpkin or spices that I could discern. I like my pumpkin beers spicy and bold this is is much too timid for my liking. would not buy again

Pours a deep copper orange with a thin white head. Aroma is very strong pumpkin flavor with just hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Much more emphasis on the pumpkin. Taste is medium bodied and malty with just a hint of pumpkin and spices. Not a cloying malt bomb and tasty spices that are not over the top make this a good pumpkin beer.

In a few words, kind of gross. Too much nutmeg. Waayy too much. Too much sweet pumpkin. Just not complex because it’s all pumpkin, nutmeg, and malt. I did not like this beer.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Celar amber color wih a 2-finger head, decent retention and nice lacing. Very spicy (nutmeg mostly) aroma with notes of pumpkin and caramel. Almost candylike. Much dryer taste with cinnamon and nutmeg playing nicely with pumpkin. Well done pumpkin ale.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Pumpkin spice aroma with a bit of grassy hops. The flavor is has much less spice then the aroma. Nutmeg, pumpkin spice and grass. Nice.

Strong spice smell. Flavor seemed light on the pumpkin. I would prefer less spice i seemed overpowered by it and didnt get a good taste of pumpkin.

12 oz bottle. Orange, but darker in color than most pumpkin ales. Nose is primarily cinnamon... some nutmeg. Not overwhelming. Flavor is fairly understated. There’s pumpkin and spices but the beer core character is apparent - even a hint of bitterness at the tail end. I prefer pumpkin ales to be more flavorful, but if you’re looking for something simple with a spicy twist, this is a good option. The flavor seemed to dissipate the more I drank.

Pours from the bottle a translucent brown color with a nice head that disapates quickly. The aroma is spicy and earthy and of course filled of pumpkin. It has a good nose and better once I went back to reevaluate. The body is spicy and just a bit sweet - must be the nutmeg - with hints of cinamon, It finishes light bodied on the palate and the flavor does not stick around. http://beertalking.wordpress.com/
