Tastes like pumpkin and a lot of spice (other raters do a better job than me in figuring out which ones). Barely any hops. A bit of an aftertaste. Overall it ain’t too bad. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Has hints of pumpkin spice in it. A little bit of a bite in the aftertaste, but not at all overpowering. I was expecting a little more pumpkin flavor in it like in Shipyard’s or Sea Dog’s pumpkin ales, but it still is a good beer. I would recommend this one for all of you to try for yourself. I think you’ll like it. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Post Road Pumpkin Ale is an orange amber color with a creamy but quickly disappearing off-white head. The aroma is of light malt with strong notes of pumpkin. Cinnamon and nutmeg traces are also evident. bsm80 (144), Massapequa, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2008 On tap @ Effin’ Gruven, the bartender suggested sugar on the glass, I declined but probably should have taken his advice, he knows what he is doing, but hey I wanted to taste the beer not sugar. Right away a spiciness mainly cinnamon hit the nose, smelled like a great fall seasonal. A bit disappointed in the body and taste, it was extremely thin and bitter spicy. I did enjoy it but not as much as I was hoping for, try it with sugar next time... machfive55 (228), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2008 This beer did not leave a huge impression on me as far as pumpkin beers go. There was a nice spiciness to it, but that was the most memorable aspect. Nothing crazy and I’ve had better pumpkin beers than this one. Haslinger (642), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 25, 2008 12 ounce bottle. Pours orange with a white head. Good pumpkin aroma. The taste is kind of thin with barely any pumpkin or spices that I could discern. I like my pumpkin beers spicy and bold this is is much too timid for my liking. would not buy again dchmela (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2008 Pours a deep copper orange with a thin white head. Aroma is very strong pumpkin flavor with just hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Much more emphasis on the pumpkin. Taste is medium bodied and malty with just a hint of pumpkin and spices. Not a cloying malt bomb and tasty spices that are not over the top make this a good pumpkin beer.
