bigbobdog (36), USA Sep 18, 2008 Strong spice smell. Flavor seemed light on the pumpkin. I would prefer less spice i seemed overpowered by it and didnt get a good taste of pumpkin. stangger (155), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 18, 2008 12 oz bottle. Orange, but darker in color than most pumpkin ales. Nose is primarily cinnamon... some nutmeg. Not overwhelming. Flavor is fairly understated. There’s pumpkin and spices but the beer core character is apparent - even a hint of bitterness at the tail end. I prefer pumpkin ales to be more flavorful, but if you’re looking for something simple with a spicy twist, this is a good option. The flavor seemed to dissipate the more I drank. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Sep 17, 2008 Pours from the bottle a translucent brown color with a nice head that disapates quickly. The aroma is spicy and earthy and of course filled of pumpkin. It has a good nose and better once I went back to reevaluate. The body is spicy and just a bit sweet - must be the nutmeg - with hints of cinamon, It finishes light bodied on the palate and the flavor does not stick around. http://beertalking.wordpress.com/ Heathen (723), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Sep 16, 2008 THOUGHTS: It was your typical pumpkin ale. Lots o’ spices and malt. Nothing special, but slightly above average. Well made. Well balanced at first, but then it started to get an almost soapy taste to it. (And no it wasn’t a soapy glass.) I think it was really all the spices toying with my tongue and brain. A little unpleasant citrus was there later too.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to medium copper with a small to average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt, pumpkin pie, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic, and sour; while the finish was lightly acidic, moderately bitter, and sour with an average to long duration. There was caramel malt, citrus, spices, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The light to medium body was sorta creamy then oily with tingly carbonation and a light chalky and light astringent finish. juiceisloose (644), Windermere, Florida, USA Sep 16, 2008 Pors a copper orange color with a medium off white head that settles to a thin film. Has a pretty nice aroma of pumpkin pie, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The flavor was a disappointment compared to the aroma though. The flavor showed a little bit of the pumpkin flavor, but without much of the spices to give it that nice sweet flavor. Medium bodied with a lot of carbonation that took away from the flavor as well. I was hoping for more from this one. This is a decent pumpkin beer at best. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 14, 2008 Very nice pour, a clear shiny penny body with lots of bubbling helping to sustain the dense creamy head. The aroma is some generic sweet malt with muted pumpkin pie spice and squash aromas. In the flavor the spices are dull and come across as bitter rather than flavorful. The pumpkin is hard to detect. Hopefully this is the only "new" pumpkin beer that will cross my path this season.

sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 13, 2008 Pours copper with white head.
Aroma is all pumpkin and spices.
Taste is similar, pumpkin spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), light matls and plenty of spices to go around. It is not too overwhelming but much nice than many other pumpkin ales. Good subte mix of the spices, make this one a light beer, easy to drink. thornecb (1737), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 12, 2008 Pours amber into a shaker. White head subsides to hug rim. Pumpkin pie aromas: cinnamon and nutmeg. Crisp, sweet and dry with a lasting pumpkin finish.
