Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

RSBEG08 grand tasting. Clear orange golden with medium white head. Overwhelming pumpkin aroma with some malt in the background. Slightly sweet. Not my cup of tee.

[355ml bottle from Tesco’s Reading] Reduced to 60p without even being anywhere need the best before date! It’s a mid brown with a slight carbonation that leaves a pleasant tingle on the tongue. For an American ale it’s surprisingly sweet, although this is well balanced with bitter hops lurking in the background. There’s a definite hint of spices here (cinnamon?) but for some reason it reminded me more of Morroccan food than of pumpkin pie! Overall I felt that this ale was a bit too light to suit the style - a deeper, richer, smokier flavour is needed to match the season it’s aimed at. All the same, not a bad beer - especially at such a bargain price!

Pours a crystal clear amber with a small head. Aroma of pumpkin pulp & light corn. Tastes of pulpy pumpkin, hops, very faint spicing, nothing particularly remarkable. Thin body with ok carbonation. I think the hops stand out in this particular pumpkin ale, but otherwise not too remarkable. Thanks to G for the taste!

I enjoyed this. Nice size head off the pour. Gave off a really nice pumpkin pie aroma. Dark amber color. Had a similar pumpkin pie flavor. The pumpkin wasn’t overwhelming and there were nice hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. bottle

Bottle, from Fin. Thanks mate!
Warm copper, small white head. Spice-forward aroma: cloves, cinnamon, ginger. Not sure if I smell pumpkin, but pumpkin pie spices for sure. Light caramel sweetness and a touch of biscuit. Bright carbonation, lingering clove. Nice substantial mouthfeel. Rather good.
