Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Bottle at home ... copper colour ... light hop with a hint of pumpkin on the nose ... biscuity malt quite fruit with a light gentle well balanced spice to the juicy hops.

Bottle from my mom-Pours deep amber with red hues. Head is beige and frothy. Spicy aroma (cinnamon, nutmeg) pumpkin pie, lots of cookie dough, burnt malts. Sweet and spicy flavour profile consists of a lot of pumpkin pie, burnt brown sugar, biscuit, sweet malts, some bittering hops. Very creamy, with a good lingering aftertaste. Good.

A nicely spiced brew that satisfies your palate and lets you really enjoy the pumpkin flavor. Give it a try.

A Sim rate (bottle at Belgian Bar, Ramsgate): Spicy, pumpkin, clove, plum, Christmas pudding, apple and pear aroma. Very fruity and sweet. Flavour is similar but not quite so potent. Slightly too bitter in the finish. Weak amber colour.

355ml bottle. Orangey brown colour with thin beige head. Spicy orange aroma. Nut meg. Very fine carbonation in mouth. Certainly nutmeg-y/mixed spice. It’s a pretty solid beer with some very good spices. It’s fairly one dimensional, but it’s fine, keeps you interested. A spicy beer.

Bottled, 355ml. From Tesco, Banbury. Orange brown with cream head. Sweet vegetal flavours to the fore, quite sticky with touches of spice and a slight chemical tang. Short on the tongue with a sweet finish, almost boiled candy. Not too keen on this.

Flat, lager like flavor with very little pumpkin (where’s the pumpkin??). Frothy head, acidy on the palate, really tasted more like a lager then an ale. Golden color which might have had a slight orange hue.

Beer poured a pale golden color with a nice white head that stuck with the glass until the end. The aroma was nice with faint hints of pumpkin as expected. Unfortunately this is where the compliments end. The taste was incredibly ho-hum, with very little in the way of spiceyness. Granted, as the beer warmed towards the end of the glass the flavor did improve slightly, but I has hoping for a really festive type of autumn beer. This beer wasn’t. I am sure this would be better off the tap, but since I am no where near Brooklyn I doubt the opportunity will present itself. Cheers.
