mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 18, 2007 Bottle. Copper-orange with a white bubbly head.
Aroma is spicy- ginger and mild pumpkin, rye bread and caramel notes.
Decent body- quite spicy and sharp with alcohol notes. Almost harsh at times with prevailing cinnamon and pumpkin flavours. It’s ok, not really that interesting though. brigg (213), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 16, 2007 Updated: Nov 29, 2007(bottle) Clear, rich amber body with a very small off-white head. The aroma is dominated by cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, but pumpkins are there as well. The flavor is much the same: very spicy with cloves and cinnamon, pumpkin. But the spiciness lingers a little too much in the aftertaste. It is sort of warm and comforting in a winter beverage kind of way, but I think it is a little too strong for my liking. BabyJoe692 (109), Pickerington, Ohio, USA Nov 16, 2007 Bottle. Faintly smells like a pumpkin pie.
Also tastes slightly like a pumpkin pie, not overpoweringly spicy. Easy drinking with a smooth finish. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Nov 11, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours an orange/rust color with a small creamy light beiger head that quickly disappears and needs some vigorous agitation to keep it going. Aroma of pumpkin rinds, brown sugar, and a big malt background. Light body compared to the big creamy carbonated bang tht fills your whole mouth. Medium finish. Flavor of earth, cinnamon, silght pumpkin and malts. Big mouthfeel is kind of odd but a decent pumpkin ale. NPRugby11 (82), New York, USA Nov 6, 2007 The aroma of this is that of a good pumpkin pie...which lured me into something that literally tasted like pumpkin mashed with hops, water, and CO2. I like pumpkins and pumpkin pie...but pumpkin beer? That’s a little too far tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Nov 6, 2007 Nice clean aroma of pumpkin and spices. Amber appearance, typical of a pumpkin ale, very inviting. The flavor is sweet, definite notes of pumpkin, maybe some allspice/cinnamon thrown in. Very pleasing. Crisp finish, with some hops and spiciness left on the palate. Good, solid pumpkin ale, which defied my expectations. Defintely in the top quarter of pumpkin ales generally. Also, the history lesson on pumkin ales that they include in the commercial description is interesting, and much appreciated. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Nov 5, 2007 Draft@ The hotel bar @ Hilton Long Island. Overall a pretty decent pumpkin. A good feel and pretty drinkable. Not stellar but nice overall. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 1, 2007 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a nice clear copper with decent off white head. The aroma is mild pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet malts. It doesn’t smell too much like sweet pumpkin extract or over the top fresh pumpkin vegetation like others I’ve had in the past. But the nose comes up short of exciting. The taste is tart at first with cinnamon and nutmeg all hitting together and a little too bright. The pumpkin is really taking a back seat to the three initial flavor notes. Shame really. Leaves a lingering spicy taste behind of cinnamon and nutmeg. Really too much of those two are mixed into this beer.
