| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2007 Nice clean aroma of pumpkin and spices. Amber appearance, typical of a pumpkin ale, very inviting. The flavor is sweet, definite notes of pumpkin, maybe some allspice/cinnamon thrown in. Very pleasing. Crisp finish, with some hops and spiciness left on the palate. Good, solid pumpkin ale, which defied my expectations. Defintely in the top quarter of pumpkin ales generally. Also, the history lesson on pumkin ales that they include in the commercial description is interesting, and much appreciated. WeeHeavySD (2960), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a nice clear copper with decent off white head. The aroma is mild pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet malts. It doesn’t smell too much like sweet pumpkin extract or over the top fresh pumpkin vegetation like others I’ve had in the past. But the nose comes up short of exciting. The taste is tart at first with cinnamon and nutmeg all hitting together and a little too bright. The pumpkin is really taking a back seat to the three initial flavor notes. Shame really. Leaves a lingering spicy taste behind of cinnamon and nutmeg. Really too much of those two are mixed into this beer. McGarnigle (307), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Nice looking beer with its orange-tinged amber body. Aroma is fairly weak, but of pumpkin pie spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Body is over-carbonated, IMO, affecting the taste. Pumpkin and spices are buried, and a fair amount of hops makes this dry. That’s okay, but it’s just not rich enough. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber colour, quite lively with a nice just off-white head. Spicey, fruity and malty aroma. Fruity, spicey and pumpkiny taste, crisp, quite highly carbonated. Quite good. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2007 (on bottle) Way back this was a real ground breaker for me, and since no danish brewery has tried to make a pumpkin beer, this is still a good friend to have by ultimo october. Amber color, small, white head. Sweet caramel and, yeah must be pumpkin then, in the aroma. Gets more spicy nad fruity in the taste, levels out and has a rather vague finish. that being said. this was a good beer. Even though the pumpkin is actually a fruit and not a vegetable I must say this fruit beer is not one of my faves. It seems an oddity in it’s own. I don’t hate it, I just can’t get used to it.
but there should be a rate beer debate. Pumpkin is botanically classified as a fruit. And this my friends is a fruit beer.
