yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Oct 9, 2007 Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a hazy reddish-brown ale with a fading white head. It has a spicy aroma that suggests wood, malt, maybe cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s pretty smooth and a little watery. It’s a light-bodied ale that’s clean on the palate. There is no pumpkin detected in the aroma. There are notes of cinnamon, cassia, coriander and maybe nutmeg. Pale malt is prominent in the flavor. It’s a bit bitter, but politely so. It has a nice spice profile and a wooden aftertaste. It’s very pleasing. I’m glad I got a 6-pack. This is usually the case with Brooklyn. ghostmonkey (182), budd lake, New Jersey, USA Oct 7, 2007 bottle . . pours brown/tan witha fizzy white head . . aroma is sublte pumpkins, malts, cinnamin . . not too sweet which i didn’t expect . . not a bad beer pintocb (508), Darsville, Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2007 Amber in color. A little white head. Some spices in the nose. I can taste the pumpkin, but I’m not sure I like it. Interesting nonetheless. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Oct 6, 2007 [bottle] Spicy, earthy aroma with some nutmeg and cinnamon. Clear, dark amber color with some minimal lacing. Flavors are malty, with the standard pumpkin pie spices dominating. Spicy finish, with some hop character and slight residual sweetness. Medium bodied. WhiteAlePower (91), Long Island, New York, USA Oct 6, 2007 A decent pumpkin ale. I had this one about 2 years ago, I can’t recall all the specifics, but I will say it was one of the better ones. JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 5, 2007 Dark golden to light amber color. Taller, big bubbled light beige bubbles. LIghtly spicy aromas with cinnamon, clove, ginger and mace. Reminds me more of unbaked pie filling than the fresh out of the oven counterpart. Not much sweetness detected. LIght malty start. Starts like a heavier lager. Middle has some sharp spices that carry on to the finish and linger. Ginger type bite along with sharp cinnamon. Later in the linger some vegetable flavors come out. If this had a bit more malt depth I appreciate it a touch more. A spicy light ale. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2007 Powerful aroma of cinnamon, malts, and nutmeg. Amber in color with a nice head. Taste is a powerful combination of spices and malts. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Oct 3, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma is mild and of spicy nutmeg and pumpkin pie. Medium orange amber hue. Average sized head that fully diminished and left little lace. Flavor is spicy malt and slightly astringent. Med-light bodied. OK for a pumpkin but no seconds please .
