MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2006 This was one of the better pumkin ales I have tried. Decent blend of pumkin flavor and spice. Hoppy finish. Not bad RastaManDan (12), Hamstead, New Hampshire, USA Oct 25, 2006 This is a great autumn beer to help you get ready for the long winter.
The amber color screams Halloween and the taste is even better.
Rich taste yet very smooth finish with a solid head,
It’s hard to wait for this beer to be brewed, year after year.
Pumpkin spices are pungent in this fine amber ale.
Borup (1345), Albertslund, Denmark Oct 23, 2006 Bottle. Orange colour with a small head. Spice aroma and flavour with notes of pumpkin. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Oct 23, 2006 Decent brown sugar, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and clove aroma. Could smell all of these, but all were weak. Smelled watery. Good long finish with a taste that rests on the tongue. Seemed a bit thin. I would’ve like more malt and spiceness in this one. Probably could drink a lot of these at a tailgate party. Wouldn’t get drunk as fast. tomthompson89 (1456), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 22, 2006 had a bottle from a few years in the cellar. very nice golden orange , little head. sweet spicy nutmeg taste definate pumpkin notes. i thought well done for a fruit beer. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Oct 22, 2006 served at NYC Great World Beer Festival (a Brewtopian Event). pours a translucent orange-gold hue with a small, white carbonated head, that lasts but leaves little lacing. the aroma is lightly spiced. some cinnamon, some nutmeg. I’m big on the nutmet. The mouthfeel is relatively creamy and the flavors are considerably sweet. a hint of pumpkin, bready yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, wheat. the flavors are not semi-well-balanced and finish dry. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Oct 22, 2006 Sampled this at the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival. At first sip I thought of candy. Now it’s just a beer. No spice? Amber color. thin, invisible head. Good be better. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 20, 2006 12 oz bottle. Deep golden/amber beer. Creamy white head. Aroma of nutmeg and allspice. Also a light sugary sweetness and a nice caramel maltiness. Some zesty/spicy hop aroma as well that differentiates this from other pumpkin beers I’ve had recently. Flavour is a bit thin and hot though. Spices seem a bit stale and woody rather than bright. Decent malt profile but it tastes quite alcoholic for something that only rings in at 5% ABV. Herbal hop bitterness an the back. Meh, I could take it or leave it.
