mephisto (1144), Taiwan Oct 16, 2005 pumpkin, pumpkin, and more pumpkin. but sorry, pumpkin is just not meant for ale. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 15, 2005 Pours amber with a white head, nose is of pumpkin and dominated by spices. It has a light pumpkin, crisp, hopped taste to it and wasn’t really much of a pumpkin ale but was nice as a beer in general. bmanning (142), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2005 Clear golden - orangish color with a decent head that dissipated quickly but left good lacing. The spices in the aroma come through very strong - cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Mmmm, smells like pumpkin pie. But unfortunately, I taste no pumpkin and those sweet smelling spices are barely noticeable. It just tastes like a weak light - bodied pale ale. And has a flat and thin palate as well. Dissapointing. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2005 A golden/amber color, with a little white head. A small hint of spice and a deffinate pumpkin aroma. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 14, 2005 on tap-pours an offwhite head, color is clear gold, maybe amber tones. Aroma is pumpkin. Taste is pumpkin, cinnamon. Good carbonation, nice. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 11, 2005 Clear amber colour with a small off white head. Malty aroma with a light alcohol and spicy note. Malty, nutty flavor with a cinnamon spicyness. Very sweet finish. Ayumbomb (63), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Oct 10, 2005 I’ve had a few Pumpkin beers out of season, but it seemed that the season was gaining on me and I felt almost compelled to pull this POS off the shelf. The label disguised its gruesome face and I was offered no delight in the taste of pumpkin from this ale. In other words- it’s a trick but no treat. If you want a good pumpkin ale, get a Dogfish and not this shite. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 10, 2005 Clear opulent brass in color with some rising fizz lines running vertically from bottom to top and a thin ice sheet serving as the head. Aroma is right where I want it to be - rich pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar and a touch of pralines. If aroma were ever an aphrodisiac, this would be it. It’d all be for naught though, as the flavor is a major turn off. Cinnamon and nutmeg lead this charge, first and foremost. Pumpkin backdoors it on the follow through. There’s a tin twang that seers at the dactylic senses, kind of like licking the innards of the can of pumpkin clean. Medium bodied and fizzy, and effervescence is too much. Finishes like pumpkin pancakes and maple syrup distorted by acid. Nevertheless, I’m happy to have tried it - thanks for the bottle, Thaichile.
