Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Best pumpkin I’ve had to date, probably. Aroma is clovey, nutmeg, though pretty absent. A lot more spices show up the taste, with a nice pumpkin kick.

...whew just got sidetracked. Ummm, good beer. Maltiness is nice, could use a bit more hoppage, perhaps.

not a big fan of pumpkin ales but it was smooth and if you like the taste of pumpkin you will like this beer.

This is another pretty generic pumpkin ale. I will admit that it went down very easily .... if you’re looking for something different taste wise I suppose you could do worse.

beh. i guess this was okay. Had a bit of pumpkin spice to it, but i didn’t like it too dry and bitter it seemed. Blue Moon pumpkin ale destroys this.

Pours an average amber with small off white head that slightly laced the glass. Aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg, some cinnamon and malts. Flavor is pumpkin, nutmeg, all-spice and some cinnamon. Also some roated malts. A little thin but a decent pumpkin ale. These pumpkin ales need to be unfiltered in my opinion. Add a little depth to the feel.

Bottle. Different label than that in the picture. A deep copper pour with a thin light-tan head. Lots of cinnamon, nutmeg and malts along with some sweet pumpkin in the aroma. The taste is malty more than anything else. Hardly a hint of any of the typical pumpkin beer flavors and spices. Just a little pumpkin along with a sweet, malty body and a slightly spicy finish. Thin to medium-bodied. Not one of the better pumpkin ales.

The best part about this ale is the aroma of autumn spices (allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.). This is not a distinctly "pumpkin" flavored ale, but finding a true pumpkin ale is rare (usually micro-brews only offer this). Color was nice, and the flavor follows to aroma with a nice sweet/malty spice. Medium body with a moderately dry mouthfeel. This is one of the best "accessible" pumpkin ales on the market. Overall, I really like this seasonal ale, and give it an above average rating.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a small head. Decent pumpkin-pie smell in the nose- decent spicing. Flavor is very similar to the nose... spices and some pumpkin. Nice and tasty... but not mindblowing.
