Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

bottle, pours amber with a tall frothy light tan head. Wheat, sourness, and pumpkin nose. Lots of pumpkin flavor wtih a light spice and mildly sour malt finish. This is fairly refreshing, but every flavor from the pumpkin to spice is very light.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a clear orange/amber with quickly fading off-white head. Aroma is nice, some nuttiness, a little caramel, nutmeg, a little cinnamon, pumpkin. Flavor is tasty, some nutmeg, light cinnamon, pumpkin, faint sweetness, small malt back bone. Mouth feel is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, a nice tasty pumpkin beer, easy drinking and flavorful!

12oz bottle. Pours translucent orange amber, topped with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is dominated by spice, with notes of nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon, with caramel and pumpkin in the background. Pumpkin meat comes through a bit more on the palate than in the aroma. Nutmeg and allspice compliment the pumpkin and hang out for a fairly long finish. This was one of the first pumpkin ales I sampled, over a decade ago, and it’s still one of the best I’ve tried.

Bottle. Very spicy pumpkin scent....smells delicious. Unfortunately, the scent was probably the best part. Tastes like a standard ale, but with a slight pumpkin finish. The spice in the scent didn’t really come through in the taste for me. It was alright, but I was hoping for more pumpkin flavor out of a pumpkin ale.

Bottle Pbust pours a clear amber with a thin off white head. The head has average lastability. The lacing is good. Has a nice aroma of pumpkin, spices, and ginger snap cookie. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is good. Not too pumpkiny but spicy and mild. Has a watery texture. The finish is good and a good aftertaste. Not the most robust pumpkin but good flavor and enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices, and sweet malt. Flavor is the same, nice pumpkin but lacks a little balance. Dry finish with high carbonation. Middle-of-the-road pumpkin ale.

Overall Impression: Pretty Standard Pumpkin, you’ve had it before. Better then a Jack’s or a Blue Moon certainly, but nothing special.

12oz bottle: Reddish gold pour with a fantastic pillow top head that laces all the way down. Looks like an autumn beer to me. The nose lots in the spice department - cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice immediately come to mind. Some deeper whiffs reveal ginger, white pepper and lemon zest. An interesting mix. The body adds a nice caramel malt sweetness to the mix, but could be a bit beefier to stand up to the heavy spices. Dries nicely on the tongue, almost becoming a bit chalky. Good.
