Commercial Description:
Bottle; Filtered.
Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

My first pumpkin ale. Very interesting. Loads of cloves and cinnamon in this one. Slightly sour pumpkin flavour. Slightly thin, but funny.

Copper-amber color; poor head. Very strange, but nice, perfumy aroma, fruits (oranges, apricots), rhum, spices… Dry mouthfeel, ordinary. Finishes with a mild caramel/bitterness. Good try for the aroma, but the rest...
A big thank to Jens (Ungstrup), Jacob (Lövenlund) and Rasmus (Nørrebro Bryghus) for all the effort!

Bottled. Pale yellow appearance. No significant head. Pumpkin notes are dominating the flavour. Interesting brew.

Slightly phenolic cinnamon aroma. Medium orange-brown, big head, bad label. This was a very drinkable beer, dry and fruity. Medium body. Light burn on the finish and not too bitter. Finish is malty. Loses CO2 and goes a bit flat. Balanced for a class of brew that gets a little ham-handed in the nutmeg department sometimes. Picked this bottle up from a Bleeker St market in NYC on the first HHR trip, early Oct 2005.

Yellow-amber w/ off white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, & clove. Light feel. Pumpkin pie flavour w/ all the trimmings (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, pepper). Some crustiness & light hops. Dryish finish.

It looks like pumpkin, smells like pumpkin and tastes like pumpkin-flavored beer! Big aroma of nutmeg. Taste of cinammon and dough. Dry finish. A bit watery and very filtered.

This is another pretty generic pumpkin ale. I will admit that it went down very easily .... if you’re looking for something different taste wise I suppose you could do worse.

Bottle, from Julio’s. Good nose, Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon like it says on the label. Clean orange color. Small to no head. Bitter flavors, Same as aroma, though the cinnamon and nutmeg overdo the pumpkin. Thin body, lite creaminess, little bitterness on finish, though I think its the cinnamon. Tasty, very drinkable. I’ve had better pumpkin ales though
