Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pours amber with a creme colored head. Spicy, strong aroma but a balanced malty and hop taste. Flavor could have used some more spices for a pumpkin ale but went done easily. Good beer for 50% off due to the chronological distance from October.

2,25 Euro.

Pours a deep amber body with a thin head. Rather unpleasant aroma with a hint of fruit. Taste is quite flat with a nice fruityness.

(Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a pint, ABV 5% Deep orange to red colour on the body, clear, with minimal thin head on top, disappearing straight away. Aroma of light pumpkin, pumpkin spices, metallic notes. Taste is sweet, with lots of pumpkin spices, nutmeg, cinammon, light caramel too. Medium thin body, high carbonation. Nothing special.

Undated but very likely 2012 edition served in a Peroni glass in Sept. 2012 (from notes). Pours clear, medium amber with a durable white head that leaves exceptional sticky lacing. The aroma reflects a mix of pumpkin pie spices, especially cinnamon, and, perhaps, a hint of squash. Unfortunately, those spices are far too pronounced in the flavor, particularly the nutmeg, and nearly bury the malt. It may be some hops, but there’s some earthy bitterness here that I suspect is due to over-spicing. O: a below average beer but about average for style.
