Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Clear copper pour with a decent white head. Faded to a quick collar and left some good lace. Aroma was your typical pumpkin pie spices mixed with a touch of caramel. Actually quite nice. Flavors were right on par with the nose, decent pumpkin flavors to go with the aromas. Mouthfeel was just slightly thin but the lively carbonation boosted it up. Quite refreshing. My first pumpkin beer of the year and a decent one at that...

Had this bottle at a local happy hour favorite spot last fall. Subdued overall on the pumpkin contributions, go have a Pumking instead.

Bottle. 4/16/13. Pours a translucent green-orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is pumpkin spice, grass, bread, vegetables. Taste is vegetables, clove, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, biscuit, nutmeg, grass. Some light lacing. Creamy, slightly chewy mouth feel. Carbonation is medium. Not bad, but just not all that flavorful. I want something that tastes like pumpkin; this tastes vaguely of pumpkin spice.

I’m not a huge pumpkin ale guy but this one had a great aroma of pumpkin and spices and poured an actual orange amber color like the description. Taste had hints of pumpkin and cinnamon but not overpowing. A great fall beer

Backlog rating 12-28-2008 (Bottle) The appearance is a small off-white head that mostly diminished during my rating, transparent body, semi-fizzy carbonation, spotty amounts of lacing, and an orange hue. The Aroma is sweet, pumpkin, lightly spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg, and malty. The Taste is sweet, light pumpkin, spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg and ends with a dry finish. The Palate is smooth and this is a light-medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer is quaffable, not over-the-top pumpkin in the Aroma or Taste categories.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2013 October 2011. 12 oz. bottle. Pours orange/amber with a small white head. Pumpkin aroma blended with spice, orange and nutmeg. It’s an OK pumpkin ale without really standing out.

Bottle, Chester Beer & Wine. Insipid amber pour. Nose of spice, pumpkin and fruits. Similar flavour, sweetish and quite light.. Rather thin overall. Didn’t really dig this.

Pours orange with a white head and aroma of pumpkin and spices. Taste is of tons of pumpkin cloves, and spices with a spicy, medium finish. Drinkable, solid pumpkin brew from Brooklyn.

Bottle - Nutmeg, orange peel, pumpkin and clove on the nose. Clear orange with a thin bubbly head. Carbonation really kills the taste. A bit of a burn, almost like alcohol but may be the spices and carbonation. Lots of orange and spice, not much pumpkin or subtle flavors I come to expect or enjoy from this kind of seasonal. Likely much better on tap.

330ml bottle from Archive. Dark amber colour with a steady stream of white foam. Earthy pumpkin aroma with a background note of a few different spices. Well rounded beer with a malty flavour and a faint taste of cinnamon on the palate.
