Post Road Pumpkin Ale is a revival of a beer brewed by the early American colonists. Pumpkins were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious and they blended nicely with barley malt. Hundreds of pumpkins are blended into each batch of Post Road Pumpkin Ale, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center and crisp finish. Post Road Pumpkin Ale is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Middle of post road for me... Crisp ale with more hops than other speciality pumpkin beers. Just doesn't have that full flavor others do. Very drinkable and a "taste of fall" - I guess for this style I would rather have one or two full flavored than this one. The hops and pumpkin together taste alittle soapy to me but very clean Finish. Aroma is average- ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 8-30-12 Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a nice dark orange-amber color with a thick two finger off white head. The head fades over a moderate amount of time to leave a fairly nice level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a mix of a sweet pumpkin, spice aromas of a pumpkin pie, and a caramel smell. The spice is a good blend of allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mixed with this are some lightly roasted malt aromas, giving overall, a quite a pleasant baked pumpkin smell. Taste – The taste begins with a lightly roasted malt flavor. Soon spices and a pumpkin flavor arrive on the scene. The spice flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice remain relatively light, but the pumpkin grows stronger as the taste moves on. In the end the stronger pumpkin flavor, mixed with the lightening of the malt and loss of any sweetness that was present before in the taste leaves a dry and more crisp pumpkin flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the light to average side with the carbonation level being just above average. Overall – It is an alright pumpkin beer. It has a nice look and aroma, but is a little too dry and the flavors are just malt and pumpkin, somewhat boring.

The body has a deep golden amber color with a tall foamy and off white colored head. The body has good clarity and the head has good retention as it slowly fades to a much thinner layer that hangs on well. On the way down the glass the head makes slick spotty lacing. In the nose there are pleasant pumpkin pie spices like clove, allspice and defiantly cinnamon, with some sweet roasted grain as well. The flavor has a base of sweet roasted grain and a healthy dose of bitter spice and dry leafy hops. Clove, cinnamon and other pie spices pop out and there is just enough pumpkin flesh flavor to make it work. The palate has a tingly carbonation and a medium body.

Quite a fruity aroma. You can tell the pumpkin. Deep amber colour. Slightly cloudy. Not a massive head. Very well rounded taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark amber body with medium creamy head. Aroma has spicy character with pumpkin notes, clove, floral, pine. Taste has medium christmas spice bitterness, background of pumpkin sweetness. Dry and astringency texture. Body is full, high carbonation. I had worse pumpkin ale, but not a better one, that said I cannot say I like it.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark amber colour with a white thick white head. Aroma of pumpkin, nuttiness and bread. Flavour of pumpkin, nuts, grains, some spiciness, grapefruit and earth. A bit musty. Medium bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes grainy and very pumpkin-y. Unusual.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a clear light orange colored body that yields a one finger white head that immediately dies to a film. Some nice ringy lacing appears and no carbonation is seen rising. The smell had some light pumpkin up front and really that’s about it. The taste got a little better as the pumpkin combined a bit more with the ginger, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it sat light and has the carbonation showing some presence but not overbearing, just enough to show its there. This is an extremely drinkable beer. Overall, a session pumpkin ale, but I tend to like the heavier ones.
